Sex Virgin Killer, the Tokyo darkwave band making waves with their latest album ANGEL, releases Lissajous (Shinobu Narita Remix) on CD, featuring a remix of the track that closes the album. (Paper sleeve packaging / Limited to 200 copies)
Described by Takeshi of Boris as “their greatest work to date,” ANGEL was released in two editions: an international edition and a Japanese edition. One of the album’s standout tracks now receives a dazzling new interpretation as a remix single by Shinobu Narita of Urban Dance, the influential 1980s new wave and technopop group. This marks the second collaboration between Narita and Sex Virgin Killer, following the highly acclaimed remix of “The Lights Will Fall.”
Preserving the original song’s fragile yet decadent, euphoric melodies and lyrics that explore the depths of love, Narita adds greater depth and shimmering brilliance to its synth sounds, creating an exquisite sonic ensemble. Spanning punk, visual kei, metal, and darkwave, SVK has continued to evolve over the past 20 years. Following their sold-out tour in Finland, this release pushes the boundaries of their sound even further, capturing the band at their current creative peak.
With releases on Germany’s Young & Cold Records, a label at the forefront of the global darkwave and post-punk scenes, and an ever-expanding international presence, Sex Virgin Killer delivers a new anthem that transcends borders. Two dazzling beams of light emerge from impenetrable darkness, opening the way to a vivid new world.
